Abstract des Autors

Student teaching is a crucial experience in the pursuit of teaching effectiveness and in the aquisition of various pedagogical skills. The supervision expertise demands competencies to identify teaching weakness, their nature and origin and to seek appropiate solutions able to improve teaching skills. The study of the supervision process is based on the analysis of instructional performance, on the diagnosis of specific weakness and the identification of skills needing improvement. It is also important to encourage efforts to improve teachers and to give information on key factors influencing the teaching development. It is necessary to gather additional information on how supervisors perceive student-teachers and how they understand their performance in many areas of their professional activity. The purpose of this study was to describe and to analyse supervisors' instructional strategies, their main goals and concerns, the way they interact with student-teachers, and the evaluation procedures they use.
