Abstract des Autors

In spite of numerous papers concerning anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) surgery there is a lack of data on intra- and perioperative complications. With the help of a retrospective survey among trauma and orthopaedic surgeons in German-speaking countries, type and frequency of complications in the cruciate ligament surgery were evaluated. From 322 departments with a total of 16.252 operations on the cruciate ligaments per year, a complication rate of 6.9% is reported, whereof both infection and phlebothrombosis have a 36% incidence. The data obtained by the retrospective survey demonstrate a minimum frequency which is important for quality control, quality management and medicolegal aspects (i.e. malpractice). Verf.-Referat
