Preventing, recognizing, evaluating, educating, managing, and rehabilitating sports injuries are all components of the athletic training profession, which often makes athletic trainers the prinicipal care-givers of athletes and the first line of defense for athletic injuries. As chiropractors increase their involvement in athletic health care, their understanding of the profession of athletic training is central to their effective ability to work with individual athletes and sports teams.
