Abstract des Autors
On the occasion of the centenary of the Summer Olympic Games, the author wants to assemble and compare a certain number of key factors behind their organisation since 1976. Brief analyses of some of the political, sports, organisational and financial aspects of the Games are based on these factors. The comparisons drawn make is possible to pinpoint certain tendencies within the historical evolution of the organisational phenomenon that the Games constitute. The continuous growth of most factors means that the Games are becoming economically easier to organise thanks to increasing income, but ecologically more difficult to hold because of a certain degree of gigantism.
