Abstract des Autors
Ammonia and lactate accumulation induce muscular fatigue and asthenia which an administration of arginine should reduce through the stimulation of ureopolesis. In a double-blind crossover design with an unique dose of 3 g arginine chlorhydrate the effects of this dose were studied either after intravenous (9 subjects) or oral (4 subjects) administration. The results observed during the recovery period after an incremental maximal exercise show: 1) a percentage of 12 to 25% decrease of the ammonia and lactate values obtained with the placebo during the 15 minutes recovery period; 2) a stimulation of the lactate kinetics by increase of lactate removal.
