The purpose of this study was to evaluate eye, head and hand coordination when pointing with the left and right hands. As well, the influence of the speed and accuracy demands of the task on the temporal organization of the three body parts was evaluated. Subjects were required to reach and touch small illuminated targets, either as fast or accurately as possible, with either the left or right hand. Movements of the eyes, head and hand were measured using electrooculography and the WATSMART system respectively. We found that both speed and accuracy task requirements, and the side of the reaching hand, influenced the initiation orders of the eyes, head and hand. These results are briefly discussed in terms of a visual feedback processing advantage for the right hand - left cerebral hemisphere system. Verf.-Referat
