Abstract des Autors
Twelve skilled karate athletes performed a 10 s supramaximal arm exercise. Blood was sampled from fingertips immediately before, and 1, 3, 10 and 30 min after the exercise. Blood lactate concentration peaked 3 min after the exercise and equalled 6.3+/-1.0 mmol/l. Plasma uric acid concentration increased by 16% 30 min after the exercise. Plasma inorganic phosphate level was slightly (by 18%) but significantly elevated 1, 3 and 10 min after the exercise and returned to basal level 30 min post-exercise. Neither peak post-exercise blood lactate nor plasma uric acid concentration 30 min post-exercise was related to the mean power output. In contrast, peak changes in post-exercise inorganic phosphate concentration were positively correlated with mean power output (r=0.885; P<0.001). It could thus be postulated that measurements of plasma inorganic phosphate in response to anaerobic exercise provide information on alactic energy utilisation during muscular work. Verf.-Referat
