Abstract des Autors

In order to diagnose the general aerobic running capacity there is a need for a field test that is easy to carry out and independent of the availability of a laboratory. In a research project with 28 prepuberal children from the ages of 8-11, the 6-, 12-, and 18- min runs were analyzed under the following criteria: anaerobic lactacid energy supply, consistent running speed, acceptability by the children, and test reproducibility. The measurement of the aerobic running endurance as the aim of the test is fulfilled to the lowest degree by the 6-min run due to the fact that it causes the highest glycolytic demands (6.3 mmol/l respectively 5.6 mmol/l). Metabolic aspects and the consistent speed favor the 18-min run. After considering all aspects, the 12-min run can be advised as the best method. Verf.-Referat
