Abstract des Autors

The development of fatigue in the quadriceps femoris muscle was examined during thirty 10s sprints and five 60s sprints. The recovery following the series such as after a vita maxima load and a single 60s sprint was investigated. The twitch tension and the time up to the 50% value of a maximal voluntary contraction characterize the muscle function. Both features characterize the different effects of the loads. The twitch tension as a feature of the strength production (electromechanical coupling, number of cross bridges) and the initial rise of the voluntary contraction, probably mirrors the reduction speed (rate of cross bridge cycles). Fatigue changes the nature of optically identical loads and modifies the expected adaptation in the muscle when the load is continued. Verf.-Referat
