Abstract des Autors
The role of the different elements comprising the posterior popliteal complex is presented. This complex includes a main element, the posterior cruciform ligament, and peripheral elements controlling posterior rotation actively and passively. The biomechanical and kinetic behaviour of the posterolateral compartment is then discussed with emphasis on the coaptation function and pre-constraint of the posterior cruciate ligament and on the organisation of three dimensional active stabilisation of rotation.
