Abstract des Autors

Since 1987, an interdisciplinary prevention program for adipose children between 9-12 years of age has been held on an outpatient basis in Freiburg. The program is based on the idea that only combined measures concerning nutrition, sport and behavior can successfully combat the complex problems involved in adiposity in the long run. The intensive phase (6 months) includes a baseline examination (EU), accompanying sports consultation, individual nutritional consultation, dietary and behavior training, cooking-afternoon for the children (1/month), cooking and consulting-evening for parents (1/month), sport lessons (3/week) and control of body weight (2/week). A control-examination KU (after 6 months) and follow-up (6 months and longer) are performed. The sports curriculum, the anthropometric and biochemical data of the EU of 93 children in 6 groups and of 77 children who have undergone EU and KU thus far are shown. Primary prevention must begin in childhood since this is the best time to modify life style. Verf.-Referat
