Abstract des Autors

This study deals with supramaximal performance during the 'Wingate Anaerobic Test' (WanT) with regard to optimizing the setting of workload, which is supposed to result in a maximal power output. We introduced a new and more dynamic muscle physiological parameter, the individual 'muscle-power-threshold' (MPT), which we tested in 87 persons (45 men and 42 women) and which allows a maximal production of power. These persons also participated in a series of bicycle ergometer tests with various body weight-related settings of workload to find out the best results of peak power (PP) and mean power (MP) over a 30-second period. Statistical analysis gave information about the optimal setting of workload related to body weight, to the fat-free body mass and to the 'muscle-power-threshold'. The results show the highest correlation between the individual 'muscle-power-threshold' and the peak respectively mean power for men and women. Verf.-Referat
