Abstract des Autors

Based on flow cytometry analysis, several peripheral blood parameters in male elite rowers during 21 days of training at high altitude (HT, n=22) and 19 days of training at sea-|evel (SLT, n=16) were measured. The samples were taken 10 days before, 7 times during and 8-12 days after the training camps. During HT and SLT, 88% of the intensities were done with less than 4 mmol/l lactate, 11% must be considered strength training. The following results at HT compared to SLT were found: Hemoglobin increased by 0.5 to 1.5 g% (6-12%), hematocrit increased by about 4%. Middle-aged and old reticulocytes increased by 20-30%. The reticulocyte ratio rose 50-70% during the first week. After HT the juvenile reticulocytes had increased by 4% cvompared to SLT. According to these results, an increase of blood volume and higher capacity for 02-transport can be estimated. Verf.-Referat
