Abstract des Autors
The present paper deals with humoral factors that are of importance in exercise physiology and are within the author's area of expertise. It covers the supply of glucose and FFA to working muscle, the neuroendocrine involvement in glucose production and lipolysis, regulation of the hormonal response to exercise, and training-induced adaptations within the neuroendocrine system and its target cells. It is not possible here to give a complete and detailed survey of the vast literature on these topics. Rather, an outline will be given with emphasis on the most challenging ideas that have been pursued within the last 10 years. Verf.-Referat
