Abstract
A computerized tracking system is described, utilizing mixed images on the VDU of both the tracking surface, a programmable touch sensitive pad, and the subject in his/her competitive environment. This mixed enables accurate tracing of the motion of the subject. A complex series of validation tests, using squash as an example, demonstrates the accuracy of the system. The learning time required is short and independent of intra-and inter-operator variables. The system provides a detailed analysis of motion for athletes in any sport, with an accuracy approaching that of film analysis.
