Abstract
In order to develop some measures of sport functions, 26 items were constructed to assess subjects perceptions of nine functions that sport might perform. Utilizing self-administered questionnaire responses from 637 diverse students (N = 510) and faculty members (N = 127), a factor analysis was calculated. Instead of finding support for nine functions, five factors resulted. In some cases, the items loadings on particular factors seemed to support using the original labels for the emergent factors. In other cases, new labels seemed to be required to identify the factors. Verf.-Referat
