Abstract
The study concerned the phenomenon of anticipatory postural adjustment in healthy persons and in the patients suffering from Parkinson disease and from hemiparesis caused by apoplectic stroke. It was compared how much time passed between the sudden forward-and-upward movement of the arm and the appearance of any bioelectric action in the deltoid muscle and also the appearance of the automatic action in the bicipital muscle of the thigh. The interaction of the bioelectric action in the bicipital muscle of the thigh was discussed, being treated as a manifestation of the programme of the postural adjustment motor pattern which is encoded in the brain.
