Abstract

As many other systems the immunosystem also can adapt to physical work. In sedentary men the level of immunoglobulins decreased after excercise and it took 2-4 days to recover. The purpose of this study was to analyse how serum proteins change during vita max. load and competition. 14 male racing cyclists took part in the experiment. Blood samples were drawn before and after the spiroergometry test as well as 24 and 48 hrs after a 240 km race. We determined some immunoglobulins (IgA, IgG, IgM), two of the transfer proteins (transferrin, haptoglobin) and CRP levels by a TURBOX-TM instrument using nephelometric method. After the load in the lab. the levels of serum proteins changed mildly but recovered within 24 hrs. The regular training results in specific adaptation also in plasma protein turnover. The exhaustive training increases catabolism in the whole body but the increased protein synthesis results in a rapid recovery in extremely well trained athletes. Verf.-Referat
