Abstract

One universitys attempt to face the perplexing challenge and problem of chemical dependency on its campus through an institutional wide drug policy/program for student-athletes involving (A) mandatory educational experiences for staff, (B) a variety of mandatory educational experiences for student-athletes, (C) use of on-campus and off-campus experts in the area of chemical dependency; and, (D) an ongoing assessment process of the success of the drug education program. An explanation of the complete Drug Education Effort (Six Distinct Phases) and Substance Abuse Policy is provided as well as the detailing of the global objectives of the program. Verf.-Referat
