Abstract
The primary purpose of this article is to examine the efficiency of a conventional circular pedal motion bicycle and a noncircular lever driven system. The secondary purpose is to compare the patellofemoral forces exerted on the user between the two systems at a given work output. Patellofemoral force is a contributing factor to chondromalacia patellae and is, therefore, of primary importance in both locomotion and exercise/rehabilitation. Verf.-Referat
