Abstract

The study was, under a simulated condition in laboratory, to clarify the mechanism of temporal adjustment and the effect of practice in returning the serve of tennis. As the result, after the practice, all the subjects improved both in their movements of return and in the results of imagery-recall test. With regard to the on court matches, the movement of return also improved after the practice in every subject proportionately to its skill level. Based on the results, it was clarified that the practice in returning the serve under a simulated condition is effective in promoting the timely response, assumably by reinforcing the memory process in the central nervous system. And so, as one of the learning strategies, the application of simulator to tennis practice is recommended. Verf.-Referat
