Abstract
In the 14th Leuven Seminar there has been emphasis on the area of motor development and physical performance and on the somatic and biological maturation. This comes as no surprise since the main topic of the Seminar was on longitudinal growth studies. In this volume 20 manuscripts are included together with the abstracts of the remaining 20 papers that were presented during the free communication sessions and the poster session. The manuscripts were arranged under three main areas: (1) Somatic growth and physical performance; (2) Endocrinological control of growth, and, Clinical exercise physiology; and, (3) Genetic and environmental influence on somatic growth and physical performance.
