Abstract
Infection of the ischiorectal space may spread rapidly and extensively resulting in an anorectal abscess. The infection commonly results from hematogenous infection, a ruptured anal hemorrhoid, anal fissures, prolapsed thrombosed internal hemorrhoid, or in asscociation with injury of the anal skin or mucous membrane by the nozzle of an enema syringe. I present here four cases of posterior anorectal abscess (PAA) resulting from a hip contusion sustained while skiing during the past four ski seasons. Verf.-Referat
