Abstract des Autors

The purpose of this study was to examine whether there was any deterioration in knee static position sense following reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) due to its complete tear. Twenty-five subjects took part in four different modes of proprioceptive testing in both legs. No significant differences were demonstrated between the operated and normal knees. It is suggested that the role of ACL in knee static position sense is secondary and that this function is likely to be controlled entirely by knee musculature.
