Abstract

Bearing in mind the great training loads and intensity to which top performance weightlifters are submitted, the implementation of a study for a group of weightlifting athletes affected by several traumas or injuries influencing their sport performance, was encouraged. Our objective was to seek the possible causes and results of these injuries, related to their development, and reach conclusions which would allow us to determine the more frequent sitings as well as how to prevent them or, if necessary, how to apply rehabilitation. Our work allows us to express that here are several factors in the weightlifters injuries such as the sport age, the athletes biological conditions the great training loads, the fulfillment of the training rest schedule and the physiotherapeutical prophylactic plan among others.
