Abstract
Calcaneal spur in athletes is a process of ossification of the fascia plantaris following microtraumata. Usually conservative treatment is sufficient. Surgery can be considered in chronic cases. The fascia is dissected from the calcaneus, after which the calcaneal spur is removed. Etiology, therapy and differential diagnosis of subcalcaneal pain in marathon runners is discussed, in a case of a patient with recurrence after surgery. Verf.-Referat
