Abstract

6,500 apparently healthy subjects going in for sport as amateurs have been checked by a stress test. 63 (0.96 percent) of them, showing a pathological ST depression caused by the stress, have been periodically checked in order to detect possible primary coronary events. During the follow up period 5 of these subjects have shown this kind of disease. In order to identify the patients needing further tests (perfusional and/or contrastographic) a poliparametric response to stress test has been evaluated together with the analysis of the coronary risk factors of the patients themselves. By this analysis a subgroup has been identified where the incidence of primary coronary events is significantly higher than that of the group checked (26.6 percent vs 2.5 percent) and where further screening it necessary.
