Abstract
The volume is organised into four parts: physiology, biomechanics, psychology and an interdisciplinary section. These represent the monodisciplinary bases of Sports Science as well as its interdisciplinary character; they correspond to the sectional areas of the British Association of Sports Sciences whose support for the scientific programme was invaluable. The range of material within each part is broad and reflects to a considerable extent the increase in multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary research within Sports Science. Verf.-Referat
