Abstract
Abstract
The questions actually raised by the neurobiology of motor controls are outlined in the framework of a four-level control model. At the first level of control is the muscle (as a servo-motor) with its command apparatus and reflex regulation. At the second level of control is the wired programm with its servo-assistance circuits (auto-regulation). At the third level of control is an adaptative processor which can automatically recalibrate the wired program (auto-adaptation). Finally, at the fourth level of control are the cognitive processes which would ensure the choice and modification of strategies (auto-organization). The author predicts a propressive shift from a physiological study of movement tao psychophysiology of action during which the physical activity domain would be the main field for future reserch.
