Abstract

Twenty-two middle-aged men participated in a two-month aerobic dance program involving at least three 45-minute sessions per week. Resting heart rate, body weight, and total serum cholesterol level decreased significantly after the program. High-density lipoprotein cholesterol values did not change significantly, which may relate to the subjects level of alcohol consumption. Results indicated that participating in an aerobic dance program can improve both physiological and metabolic characteristics of cardiovascular fitness. Verf.-Referat
