Abstract
The subjects were 84 world-class female basketball players on national teams of Bulgaria, Canada, Czechoslovakia, Poland, Soviet Union, and United States. Measures were taken of standing and sitting height, upper and lower limb length, shoulder and hip width, chest and abdomen girth, arm and calf girth, and body weight. Body form was studied using indices of lower limb to sitting height, shoulder to hip width, chest to abdomen girth, and limb girth to limb length. Averages and variability statistics are presented. Relative compari- sons are made between national groups and playing positions. The USSR team is heaviest, the Czechoslovak team tallest. Skelic index is highest for centers, lowest for guards. The percent body fat was similar for all teams and, within teams, the lowest for the guards. Verf.-Referat
