Abstract

This project was undertaken to determine fin maximal oxygen consumption of Scuba divers (N=22) during fin swimming on the surface of the water and at a depth of 3 metres, as opposed to treadmill running. The following values were significantly lower during fin swimming than during treadmill running: Maximaloxygen intake (18.7), maximal heart rate (6,4) and maximal pulmonary ventilation (26.4). The maximal oxygen intake of fin swimming on the surface and a depth of 3 metres did not differ significantly. Verf.-Referat
