Abstract

For kinesiologic investigations, especially for analysis of gait, an automaticchronocyclographic method for analysing motion with simultaneous evaluation ofEMG and other analogue values was developed. The values are fed into a process-computer and stored on magnetic tape. The advantage of the method is the small laborcost of later evaluation and the possibility of correlating data recorded at the same time by means of a computer. The following methods are described: automatic chronocyclography; technique of electromyographic evaluation; devices for measurement of stance and swing phases and of the velocity of gait. Finally an example is given of an investigation of hip and spine muscles by electromyography and gait-analysis. The results of some investigations with these methods are briefly discussed.
