Abstract
Cardiorespiratory functions at maximal exercise were studied in boys (10.2 years) and adults (21.6 years). Both groups had almost same maximal oxygen intake (ml/kg.min) and maximal stroke volume (ml/kg). However the former had higher maximal heart rate and the latter had higher arterio-venous oxygen difference. Therefore, contribution of these two variables to maximal oxygen intake is different between boys and adults. Moreover, lower mixed venous pressure of C02 observed in boys may postulate lower lactacid anaerobic capacityin boys. 800 m run as a field test might be valid for the evaluation of endurance fitness in boys. On the contary, step test for boys was not valid as applied in modified form. Verf.-Referat
