Abstract
The effects of the extent of athletic participation upon mortality was studiedin former college athletes (N = 628) and a control sample of classmates (N =563). The comparison of mortality of subjects from whom the number of years ofsports participation had been determined in 1952. No negative effects of sports participation upon longevity were found. Independent of groups, the surviving subjects had participated more years in sports. Verf.-Referat
