Abstract
On the basis of the authors own observations the highest values of the absolute heart volume in one healthy male and one healthy female athlete are presented. A water-polo player, M. S., had a heart volume of 1,700 ccm and a female swimmer A. B. of 1,150 ccm. The woman swimmers heart volume is the highest described in the world literature, while the of 1,700 ccm was also found in a cyclist by another.
