Abstract
The history of vestibular symptomatology in hyperbaria is reviewed. Most of this literature deals with vertigo as a symptom of decompression sickness in divers and caisson workers, although other symptoms (e.g. nystagmus, staggers), other influences (compression, mixed gases), and other environments (breath-hold dives, submarines) are included. Studies that report case histories, incidences, and other factors are summarized. After joint pain and its effects, vestibular embarrassment and related ear problems is the next largest symptom complex in decompression sickness. Verf.-Referat
