Abstract

Die Auseinandersetzung um den Begriff und das Forschungsfeld des Sporttourismus gelangt seit den 1990er Jahren zunehmend in die sportwissenschaftliche Diskussion und weckt verstärkt das öffentliche Interesse. Das betrifft den deutschen und vielmehr noch den angelsächsischen Sprachraum. Die weitere Auseinandersetzung und Ausdifferenzierung des Gegenstandes Sporttourismus erfolgten jedoch ohne eine adäquate Diskussion um den Gegenstand selbst. Der Beitrag gibt einen kritischen Überblick über den bisherigen Stand der wissenschaftlichen Diskussion zum Sporttourismus. Eingegangen wird auf die historische Konstituierung des Gegenstandes, die Diskussion um den Begriff und seine Definition sowie bislang entwickelte Strukturierungen und Modelle. Daran anschließend sollen die vorhandenen Defizite einer überwiegend formalen Gegenstandsbestimmung durch eine inhaltliche Entwicklung von Sporttourismus überwunden werden. Zusammenfassung

Abstract

Since the 1990s the debate concerning the concept and the research area of sport tourism has increasingly been discussed by sport scientists and is gaining increasing public interest. This is true for both the German- and English-speaking area. However, the further debate about and differentiation of the subject of sport tourism took place without an adequate discussion of the subject itself. This article presents a critical survey of the current state of scientific discussion of sport tourism. The following aspects are dealt with: the historical establishment of the subject, the discussion of the term ‘sport tourism’ and its definition, as well as structurings and models developed so far. Thereafter, an attempt is made at overcoming the existing deficits of a predominantly formal determination of the subject by a content-related development of sport tourism. Zusammenfassung

Le débat sur la notion de tourisme sportif et sur son champ de recherche est progressivement entré, à partir des années 1990, dans les discussions menées en sciences du sport, et a obtenu une plus forte attention publique. Ceci vaut pour l’espace germanophone mais encore plus pour l’espace anglo-saxon. Par la suite, l’objet a cependant connu une différenciation et des débats trop détachés d’une discussion sur l’objet même. La contribution donne d’abord un aperçu critique des discussions menées jusqu’à aujourd’hui sur le tourisme sportif en s’intéressant notamment à la constitution historique de l’objet, aux discussions autour de la notion et de sa définition ainsi qu’aux structurations et modèles proposés jusqu’à présent. Ensuite, elle tente de dépasser les déficits apparents d’une définition avant tout formelle de l’objet en développant des contenus du tourisme sportif. Zusammenfassung
