Abstract des Autors

In an analysis carried out by our orthopedic sports clinic of a total of 30,603 injuries we treated, golf ranked 42nd with 40 injured patients. In the past years, however, a marked increase has been registered with most of the players over the age of 40. Typical injuries involved capsule injuries to the finger, impaction of the wrist, golf elbow, golf shoulder, knee complaints or spinal problems, the latter particularly accompanying preexisting degenerative changes. Optimal equipment, good preparation including warm-up exercises and correction of hitting technique under proper guidance are methods for preventing injuries. Verf.-Referat
