Abstract des Autors
The article presents an overview of the results of the latest research on chosen topics of motor development: (1) age of the best performance in sport, (2) trainability of motor abilities in life course, (3) development-related training. Concerning the age of best performance an astonishing age-span of best performance in sport is shown. This can be mainly explained by a plasticity of motor abilities throughout the entire life-span and the minor influence of biological aging processes in the early and middle adulthood. Precise information about the change in trainability of motor abilities in life course (and thus details on sensitive phases) is not available at this point in time. But a precise knowledge of the sensitive phases - as shown in the concluding and practice-orientated chapter - is not necessary for the conception of a development-related training, because the choice of suitable (development-related) training contents depends on different criteria, and not only on (possible) sensitive phases.
