Artificial intelligence (AI) technologies are increasingly being employed in decision making in domains such as medicine and engineering design. Unfortunately few AI applications in sport biomechanics have been reported in the literature. In this paper we propose in three step process namely Recognise, Critique, and Recommend, for analysing the performance of divers using AI technologies. We choose an artificial neural network (ANN) for dive Recognition and a knowledge-based system (KBS) for dive Critique and Recommendations. We do not claim this method will replace human experts in evaluating a dive but rather augment their decision making.
