Special considerations must be brought into play when the sports medicine professional is consulted regarding a head or cervical spine injury. This presentation provides criteria for the sports physician to make sound treatment decisions for such injuries, and provides guidelines for returning to competition after head and spine injuries. Special emphasis is placed on transient quadriparesis and "functional" cervical spinal stenosis. Verf.-Referat
