Abstract

The juniors, older younger schoolboys did not differ in height and weight, but differed considerably in vital capacity. Neither the body weight nor the value of W-170/kp proved correlate with performance or age. The players of the higher-competition had lower values of the original pulse frequency. With juniors the reaction times were shorter than with adult players. The higher-competitive juniors appeared more extrovertive and psychically stable than the other groups. The intellect level seemed highest with the lower-competition juniors. The orientation of the juniors was more precise and promoter than of the adult men. The schoolboys were more self-confident, all groups showed more ambition, discipline and the spirit of togetherness. Consequently, the differences between the higher and the lower-competition players manifested themselves in the psychic parameters rather than in the physiological ones. The results suggest that differences in performance can be ascribed mainly to sociological factors and to quality of the trainers work. Verf.-Referat
