Abstract
Oxygen uptake parameters (VO2, VCO2, energy expenditure) in isometric exercise tests do not differ much between groups of athletes practising strength or cyclic sports. The structure of haemodynamic response to isometric effort changes with the adaptation to training loads of wrestlers, and even more so of swimmers. This takes the form of a decrease in the peripheral vascular resistance with the stroke volume unchanged, which economizes the work of the heart. Verf.-Referat
