Abstract
Spontaneous pneumothorax is defined as the accumulation of gas within the pleural space without an obvious portal of entry through the chest wall. It may be associated with some underlying pulmonary disease or may occur in healthy individuals. In the latter case, the patient is frequently a young to middle-aged male, and a history of some type of heavy exertional activity or recent substance abuse is not uncommon. The purpose of this report is to describe a case of spontaneous pneumothorax occurring during weight lifting. Verf.-Referat
