Abstract

The CABER computer system was used to analyse the frequency of illegal handballs in two matches of Australian Football. Three Victorian Football League teams were studied, with one team, Essendon, studied for two games. The Essendon team showed a significantly higher proportion of unpenalised illegal handballs for the two games than both of its opponents. In addition, the play consequential to each of these illegal handballs was shown to give the team a substantial advantage. Verf.-Referat
