Abstract des Autors

Cross-country skiing is a safe sport that is particularly suited for family and lifetime participation. Wear and tear on joints, tendons, and ligaments islow, making it appropriate for people with arthritis or physical handicaps. Serious injuries and deaths are uncommon, and racing and mass marathons are not dangerous. A knowledge of the injury patterns and risks of cross-country skiing combined with medical supervisions of participants should help keep therates low as the sport grows. Verf.-Referat
