Abstract
We have studied 73 top level Indian sportsmen for V02 max and heart ratesduring work and recovery. High negative values of r between V02 max andheart rate during work and recovery have been observed. Absolute V02 max, V02max/kg body wt/min and V02 max/kg lean body mass/min are found to play animportant role in influencing recovery of heart rate, more so in the initialphases. A similar trend has been observed while studying the influence of workheart rate on the recovery of heart rate after a standard exercise. Regressionequations for the prediction of V02 max from recovery pulse scores, have beenworked out for Indian sportsmen. Verf.-Referat
