Comparative study of reaction time in Indian sportsmen specializing in hockey, volleyball, weightlifting and gymnastics

Abstract
Visual and auditory reaction time of the right hand and the right foot of 59 subjects including hockey players, volleyballers, weightlifters and gymnasts were studied. The weightlifters were found to be significantly faster than hockey players, volleyballers and gymnasts for both visual and auditory reaction times of hand and foot. Hockey players were faster than volleyballers andgymnasts in visual and auditory reaction times of hand and foot, but the difference was significant only in auditory reaction time of hand and foot both. Volleyball players were faster than gymnasts but the difference is not significant. Visual and auditory reaction times of hand were faster than thoseof foot. Auditory reaction time of hand and foot was faster than the corresponding visual reaction time. Verf.-Referat
