Zusammenfassung

BACKGROUND: The prevention of risky behavior among children and youth is an important topic that is given particular attention in terms of its implementation and effectiveness. Despite many reported types of primary prevention programs, the foundation of prevention remains a healthy way of life. This healthy way of life is included in an active leisure time, which is becoming one of the main goals of experiential education. AIM: The aim of this paper is to outline the impact of experiential education on the prevention of risky behavior in children and youth. METHODS: The paper examined various foreign studies which involved the issues of experiential education as a form of primary prevention of risky behavior among youth. RESULTS: The paper demonstrated the influence of experiential education on the positive development of children and youth, thereby reducing their risk behavior and thus to fulfill prevention efforts. CONCLUSIONS: Selected results of foreign studies in the field of experiential education highlight the importance of leisure time and its positive effect on the personality of the individual.
